Active in drug education for many years, volunteers from Scientology Churches of Greater Los Angeles observed United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by participating in community programs designed to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs.

July 1 marked the 150th anniversary of the abolition of the Dutch slave trade. Each year, the day is celebrated in Amsterdam with a parade and a festival known as “Keti Koti,” which means “cut the shackles” in the native language of Surinam, the former Dutch Guiana.

Organized by the Church of Scientology of Padova, the fifth annual “Say No to Drugs” soccer tournament promotes drug-free living to the youth of the region.

The Church of Scientology Padova held its fifth annual “Dico No alla Droga” (Say No to Drugs) soccer championship June 23 in observance of the United Nations International Day against Drug-Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Twelve teams comprising 120 youth competed for the trophy, the Say No to Drugs Cup, which was presented to the winning team by last year’s winners.
