Getting the Truth about Drugs to the People of Milan
Church of Scientology of Milan volunteers bring drug education to the youth of their city.
Volunteers from the Church of Scientology of Milan are ensuring that youth in their city learn the truth about drugs this summer.
The Church, which supports The Truth About Drugs education and prevention initiative, has been in the forefront of drug education for 25 years. Volunteers make use of The Truth About Drugs booklets, public service announcements and a feature-length documentary. Provided with factual information on what drugs are and what they do, young people gain knowledge they need to make self-determined decisions to live drug-free.
To reach as many people as possible, the volunteers operate in teams and select areas of the city where many people gather, such as the city’s main square, Piazza Duomo. On any given weekend, they distribute thousands of copies of The Truth About Drugs booklets.
Scientologists on five continents work in their communities to empower others with the truth about drugs. The Church and its members are dedicated to eradicating drug abuse through education.
The Church of Scientology has published a brochure, Scientology: How We Help—The Truth About Drugs, Creating a Drug-Free World, to meet requests for more information about the drug education and prevention initiative it supports. Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote, “The planet has hit a barrier which prevents any widespread social progress—drugs and other biochemical substances. These can put people into a condition which not only prohibits and destroys physical health but which can prevent any stable advancement in mental or spiritual well-being.”
