How to Help Doctors on National Doctors’ Day
With the number of coronavirus cases continuing to surge, the best thing to do for doctors on National Doctors’ Day is to keep yourself and others well.
What is the best gift to give a doctor on National Doctors’ Day? According to Dr. Craig Spencer, Director of Global Health in Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center, the answer is simple: “Do your part. Stay home. Stay safe. And every day, I’ll come to work for you.”
Dr. Spencer’s description in the Washington Post of life as an ER doctor in the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic brings home the point that those who are not healthcare workers can do their part by protecting themselves and their families. And it is well worth the effort—not just for us but for those who are working long shifts under arduous conditions to pull us all through this disaster.
To provide everyone the information they need to keep themselves and others well, the Church of Scientology has created an online resource center. It consists of a 2-minute video, the booklet How to Keep Yourself & Others Well—that can be read online or downloaded—tips on general health, cleaning and sanitizing, the importance of social distancing, and what to do if you or a friend or loved one feels ill.
Following these guidelines saves lives and will make life easier for those manning the front lines of the medical facilities in towns and cities across the globe.
How to Keep Yourself & Others Well and all related resources are available in 17 languages on the Scientology website. If you would like to talk to someone about what you are experiencing while under a stay-at-home order, contact the Volunteer Ministers hotline at 1 (800) help4yu or call the Church of Scientology Los Angeles. They can recommend free online courses you and your family can do to help get you through these trying times.
Forget giving cookies or flowers this year. Give the gift doctors across the nation will appreciate most—yours and your family, at home, riding out this international emergency safe and sound.
The Scientology religion was founded by author and philosopher L. Ron Hubbard. The first Church of Scientology was formed in Los Angeles in 1954 and the religion has expanded to more than 11,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, with millions of members in 167 countries.
