SCIENTOLOGY NATIONAL AFFAIRS OFFICE HOSTS FORUM ON SYNTHETIC DRUGS

On United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office hosted a drug prevention forum focusing on a new breed of dangerous synthetic drugs.

Diplomats, federal agency employees, nonprofits, and regional activists gathered at the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office June 26 for a conference on United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to raise awareness of the dangers of synthetic substances.

July 1 marked the 150th anniversary of the abolition of the Dutch slave trade. Each year, the day is celebrated in Amsterdam with a parade and a festival known as “Keti Koti,” which means “cut the shackles” in the native language of Surinam, the former Dutch Guiana.

PADOVA’S FIFTH ANNUAL “SAY NO TO DRUGS” SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP

Organized by the Church of Scientology of Padova, the fifth annual “Say No to Drugs” soccer tournament promotes drug-free living to the youth of the region.

The Church of Scientology Padova held its fifth annual “Dico No alla Droga” (Say No to Drugs) soccer championship June 23 in observance of the United Nations International Day against Drug-Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Twelve teams comprising 120 youth competed for the trophy, the Say No to Drugs Cup, which was presented to the winning team by last year’s winners.

JUNIOR SOCCER MATCH KICKS OFF HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS

The Youth for Human Rights soccer team competed in a human rights soccer match organized by the Association for Human Rights and Tolerance of Italy. Youth for Human Rights is supported by the Church of Scientology.

Students from Monza and Civate in northern Italy are now Junior Ambassadors for Human Rights, an award they earned June 15 after competing in a soccer match dedicated to human rights awareness.

A unique fundraiser at the Church of Scientology Fort Harrison religious retreat was held on behalf of Clearwater Community Volunteers.

Five chefs, five courses and five wines: that was the fare enjoyed by the 85 guests June 9 at the Chef’s Showcase, a fundraiser at the Fort Harrison, the Church of Scientology religious retreat. The event raised $7,000 for Clearwater Community Volunteers.
