The Church of Scientology of Johannesburg co-organized the Africa Human Rights Youth Summit 2013 and welcomed the 10th annual Youth for Human Rights International World Educational Tour to South Africa.
The 10th annual Youth for Human Rights International World Educational Tour arrived in South Africa March 15 to hold the Africa Youth Summit 2013 and commemorate South Africa Human Rights Day. This was the final stage of the tour—a journey that has traveled through eight nations, spanning 73,000 km (45,360 miles).

Lynn Malin’s volunteer activities earned her the 2012 Adult-Youth Award from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse, Wisconsin. Since 2007, her after-school program has been helping kids discover how much fun it is to read.

Results of a survey released March 18 indicate a significant decrease in school bullying coincides with educational activities carried out in Taiwan schools by Youth for Human Rights Taiwan since 2004.

Circling the globe by bike in the name of a drug-free world
Reverend Bob Adams of the Church of Scientology International and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Leron Gubler welcomed two Russian Federation athletes April 1st, who are raising awareness of the need for drug education. The cyclists, Alen Khairullin and Pavel Grachev were in Hollywood today having just reached the halfway mark on their route to circle the globe.

An ad hoc group of Pinellas County, Florida, educators met to discuss the literacy crisis and propose action to reverse plummeting reading scores.
The Church of Scientology hosted a conference of professional and volunteer Pinellas County women educators at the Fort Harrison Hotel March 9, to coordinate action to reverse alarming trends in literacy. Those attending reviewed statistics showing literacy has declined throughout the United States for the last century.

Center of Scientology for Tel Aviv hosts drug prevention seminar to help youth make informed decisions to live drug free.
The 40 high school students and their teachers who attended a three-hour seminar at the Center of Scientology for Tel Aviv last week came away with a conviction to leave harmful substances alone.
The seminar was presented by Ayelet Mallis Cohen, an architect and interior designer who also coordinates the Truth About Drugs education and prevention program the Center supports.
