International Dianetics Assist Team Responds to Pakistan Floods

Led by International Association of Scientologists Freedom Medal Winner Perwaiz Hasan, the International Dianetics Assist Team is helping fill the gap in emergency relief services in Pakistan.

With monsoon-driven flash floods devastating entire regions and the Pakistan Meteorological Department issuing new flood warnings, the Dianetics Assist team is once again responding to fill the gap in relief services. The team is led by Perwaiz Hasan, who was awarded the International Association of Scientologists Freedom Medal in 2012 for his years of service, compassion and care, helping hundreds of thousands in Pakistan recover from devastating floods.

Flash floods have compelled many in the Chitral region to abandon their homes and possessions. Volunteers are distributing clothing and supplies and retrieving food and belongings flood victims were forced to leave behind.

The team has also been providing assists—techniques developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard that help relieve physical and emotional trauma. And the volunteers are also providing seminars to train others in assist technology.

Over the past two weeks, the team has helped some 1,500 flood victims in the Chitral region of Pakistan.

The Scientology religion was founded by author and philosopher L. Ron Hubbard. The first Church of Scientology was formed in Los Angeles in 1954 and the religion has expanded to more than 11,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, with millions of members in 167 countries.
